This is where the idea of social development becomes more pertinent in the context of North East India. The present edited book is humble attempt on that direction.
About the Editors
Moirangthem Tineshowri Devi (MSW, MPhil, PhD) is Professor & Head, Department of Social Work, Assam University (A Central University), Silchar, Assam, India. She has pursued her Post Graduation from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, MPhil from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi and Doctoral Research from Assam University (Central), Silchar. She is a life member of National Association of Professional Social Workers in India (NAPSWI); and a life member of Northeast India History Association. She has also successfully completed a research project under the sponsorship from Central Social Welfare Board, New Delhi. There are 7 scholars who have successfully achieved their Doctoral degree under her supervision and guidance.
Shukhdeba Sharma Hanjabam (MSW, PhD) is Head, Department of Social work, Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Regional Campus, Manipur. Makhan Kangpokpi District, Manipur. He completed his PhD from School of Social Work, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai and post doctoral from University of Florida, Florida, USA (2014-2015) as Fogarty International Centre Fellow. He is also the life member of North East India History Association; Manipur Historical Society; and Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), New Delhi. He also had successfully completed research projects under the sponsorship from ICSSR, New Delhi and Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Manipur.
